I HAVE SLACKED AND I AM SORRY! :)

So, the month of November has been up and down. But mostly up.

Christmas decorations are up. Josh got our first family tree and I put it up last night, waiting for the kids to come home to put decorations on it.

Things are coming together for Josh's birthday. I am hoping that the original shirt I ordered gets here in time or that the second back up shirt I ordered gets here in time...one or the other at least!

Kids are doing great. Naomi's Girl Scouts is still fun, we went to a movie night last Friday and had a great time. Brodie's still in Boy Scouts. Both are doing well in school.

Cats are good. Josh got them catnip yesterday and it made them crazy!

Christmas shopping is almost done! Need to get Brodie one more gift, both kids a new outfit, and stocking stuffers. And need to get Josh's present(s) and stocking stuffers. Got all of us our footie pj's too - Naomi a Troll, Brodie a dragon, Josh a snowman, and me a unicorn. :)

10/28/16: Friday my friend Megan and I went to this Whisker's cat cafe pop up, got to hang with some kittens. Then we went to dinner and then World of Fun Halloweekends! It was a real fun night! Lots of laughs. :)

10/29/16: Saturday I went to a costume contest at Torn Label, then went to a friend's party, then picked Josh up from work to which he dropped me off at Lew's to hang out with a couple friends. It was a fun night! I was dressed as a party animal!

10/30/16: Sunday picked the kids up from their dad, had some Sonic, and went home. Relaxing before the trick or treating the next day!

10/31/16: Halloween! Fun day. I went to the kids' school to watch them in the parade, hung out with them during their parties, then brought them home afterwards. We then went to dinner at Waldo Pizza and then trick or treating! Naomi was a pink kitty and Brodie a ninja.

11/1/16: First day of November! We all had a lazy day after school. Kids did homework and then did their thing, Josh made dinner.

10/27/16: I got everything for Halloween costumes! Felt rushed but got it all done. :) Just in time, too!

10/26/16: Yesterday the kids told me that they needed to dress up as a character for tomorrow's spirit day. Brodie decided on Nate from Yo-Kai Watch and Naomi had a tougher time deciding. I kept giving suggestions but she didn't like any....then she finally decided on being a Shopkins girl. They were both happy in the end.

10/21/16: I don't think we did much on Friday either. Josh worked so the kids and I just hung out.

10/22/16: Saturday we didn't do much. Just hung out and watched movies. Made the kids watch Never Ending Story. I think Bro was more into it than Nomi.

10/23/16: Sunday Naomi and I went to Target to grab a few things. She got a new cat sweater that she loves and got Bro a black shirt for his costume.

10/24/16: Josh and I just hung out at home, watched tv. Lazy Monday.

10/25/16: After I picked the kids up we went to the park and hung out for awhile. It was too nice to go straight home.

10/20/16: I've been having frequent headaches lately (I don't know why), so I slept a lot yesterday. Slept after work. Got up to vacuum, clean the cat box, shower... Then went to bed again. I needed the sleep.

10/12/16: I mostly tried to get everything together tied up at work.

10/13/16: Had the day off and spent it trying to get everything together for our trip!

10/14/16-10/18/16: Our trip to North Carolina! My sister got married on the 15th and then we just vacationed the rest of the time. It was a wonderful trip! We laughed a lot. Ate a lot of great food. Had a super fun time!

10/19/16: First day back at work and nothing worked. Parent teacher conferences that evening for the kids - kids are doing great in school and both are in advance groups in their classes. Kids and I celebrated with some Papa Keno's after the conferences. :)

10/11/16: Josh wasn't feeling well yesterday, so he mostly stayed in bed. After grabbing the kids, they did their homework. I made dinner. The kids and I hung out, talked and read books. Naomi and I then went to the store to grab some stuff for Josh to help feel better. Just a 'lazy' type day.

10/10/16: Josh and I had a lazy Monday. We grabbed take out, watched movies. Just hung out at home. I like our lazy days together.

10/7/16: Friday taking the kids home from school, I found out Brodie got another warning in his class. So I told him that Josh and I would talk about it and find out a proper consequence for him.

10/8/16: Saturday we (the kids and I) watched Pokemon XY. The kids enjoyed it! Josh and I then spoke with Brodie about his consequence and made a deal with him.

10/9/16: Kids went off with their dad and I vacuumed. ha!

10/6/16: We had a really nice storm last night. I kept the balcony door open and watched a couple movies. It was really nice. I also made a delicious pork steak meal with asparagus and potatoes.

10/5/16: Brodie was in a mood yesterday, but after he got sent to his room to calm down he was better. Made the Wednesday night special  - pasta & hamburger. I didn't burn the garlic bread this time! hahaha

10/3/16: I made a delicious brunch for Josh and I, fried eggs & breakfast potatoes. After work we went to see that new Tim Burton movie - Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children - and it was really good!

10/4/16: I had a doctor's appointment in the morning, got a prescription for some antidepressants. I have a follow up next month to see if the 10mg needs to be bumped up some or not. I like this doctor, very supportive and didn't make me feel like taking medicine was a bad choice.

9/30/16: Friday was my friend Leah's birthday. One of the bands she was in also had a show at a new restaurant, Los Cabos. I went there for a little bit, then Josh and I went home (after he was off work) and watched tv/ate dinner I made.

10/1/16: Josh and I went around town to find things for his nieces birthday and a house warming gift for his sister. Then that evening at his work, a group came in and sat by me in the bar. One of the gal's name was Alanna - pronounced the same as mine! It was hilarious and awesome.

10/2/16: We visited his sister & niece, at their new house. Hung out for a bit. Then Josh went to work and I went home to grab the kids. Good weekend.

9/29/16: After work I went to go watch Naomi do her gymnastics practice, she really wanted me to go so I did :) After that I went grocery shopping, bought food for two weeks and still had $20 left over!

9/28/16: I made this creamy, cheesy chicken pasta dish last night. It was super tasty. I figured the kids would like it because it was so cheesy. They did enjoy it, not as much as I hoped though! ha, but they still ate it. Another recipe for later.

9/27/16: Grabbed the kids after work, then we went home because they were excited to read their new books from the book fair!

9/23/16: After school the kids and I went to the dollar store to grab candy for the parade the next day. We grabbed a few things for Brodie's Halloween costume - a ninja! He just needs a black shirt and a red belt.

9/24/16: Naomi was in the downtown Overland Park parade, walking with the Girl Scouts. She and I grabbed some donuts on the way there, walked together passing out candy, and grabbed a snack on the way back to the car. It was a real nice day. We also put her Halloween costume together.

9/25/16: We had a relaxing day, didn't do much at all.

9/26/16: I took the day off to eat lunch with Brodie at school and take him to the school's bookfair. Josh and I both went. Brodie was so surprised and happy we showed up!

9/22/16: Josh worked, the kids were at their dad's...I had the place to myself! Watched some romance movies, took a nap, ate whatever I wanted.. I also made this coconut oil/vitamin E mix for my lashes, in hopes to make them grow longer and thicker. We'll see in about a month. (side note: I really don't need longer or thicker lashes, but I'm just testing to see if it really works)

9/21/16: Yesterday after work/school, the kids and I cleaned. I made a check list and we all completed it together. It was a good thing working together.

9/20/16: Naomi had her first Girl Scouts meeting, it went really well. She'll be in a parade this weekend! I got some good information about my taxes and then we went grocery shopping. It was a good day, we really felt like a family yesterday.

9/19/16: Josh and I went to dinner and then to a movie. We ate at El Patron - pretty tasty - and then watched Sully. It was a good movie. Nice night.

9/16/16: I hung out with my friend Andrea, we went to dinner and then Tapcade. I was able to meet her friend Chris as well. It was a nice night!

9/17/16: Hung out with my friend Megan. We went to dinner and then to a movie, Sausage Party. It was really great hanging out and talking/catching up.

9/18/16: Kids and I bought these blank books from Target and wrote our own little stories last night. They're very silly. They also colored some Halloween decorations, cat heads.

9/15/16: I watched the movie Sisters last night, it stars Tina Fey & Amy Poehler. It is hilarious. Made me miss my sister a lot. I also made dinner, I thought it was great.

9/14/16: It was a pretty chill night with the kids, Naomi actually went to bed early. Brodie and I watched Inspector Gadget on Netflix and just hung out. Nothing too exciting but nothing terrible either.

9/13/16: The day didn't really start off very well... But when I finally got the kids after work, they each put on my cat mask and we laughed. We got home, they did homework and we read a couple books. We mostly spent most of the evening in their room hanging out - the kids and myself. Then my daughter starts laughing and tells me about this little boy in her class who has a crush on her. Apparently he kissed her and held her hand and asked "will you marry me sweet Naomi". She was laughing so much about it. I asked what she said and she told me she just laughed. Funny stuff.

9/12/16: Josh and I tried a new BBQ place in town, it was all right. Then met up with some friends for pickleball, which he played and I didn't. Then just spent the evening together. He also surprised me with a cat mask and it really surprised me.

9/9/16: Kids and I had a lazy weekend, my anxiety/depression was kind of getting to me this weekend so we didn't do much. Friday we just hung out watched TV.

9/10/16: Saturday we took the kids to a few different parks, almost every place we went to had a birthday party going on. They enjoyed the parks and got their energy out.

9/11/16: Sunday I was just so tired, stayed in bed most of the day. Kids were good, Naomi made a craft she is going to take to school on Friday for show and tell. :)

9/8/16: Naomi had her first gymnastics practice and she loved it! I hope it is something that she stays with doing. It was fun watching her. I also made this delicious pizza last night, it was so tasty! Totally impressed myself.

9/7/16: Kids weren't too bad after school, they seemed pretty tired. I made pasta (which I have dubbed Wednesday's as pasta night in the house!) and we watched some movies. After the kids went to bed I caught a couple new Pokemon I hadn't caught before! haha I then tried to play a trick on Josh by putting a fake spider outside the door on the wall, but it didn't get him... Maybe it will get the neighbor though.. :)

9/2/16: Friday I stayed home and mostly got caught up on sleep. It was nice.

9/3/16: Saturday I went with a couple friends, Keri & Andrea, to get their noses pierced. Then we had a couple drinks afterwards. It was nice hanging out and having some girl time.

9/4/16: Sunday was a pretty lazy day. I decorated the house for Halloween, that was fun!

9/5/16: Monday we went Pokemon hunting. Walked around a lot.

9/6/16: Yesterday grabbed the kids, then we took them to a park let them get all their energy out. It was a nice night. Josh got groceries, did laundry, and made us dinner. I baked cookies.

9/1/16: I made 'edible sugar cookie dough' last night, so it was eggless. It was really good, but a lot of sugar. I also made these ham steak sandwiches earlier in the day and they were great. :)

8/31/16: Took the kids to Costco after school. They loved the free samples and every time they'd finish they'd turn to the sample people and say "great samples, thank you!" They were very impressed how big Costco is! ha, made me laugh. :)

8/29/16: Went to a Royals game, it was nice.

8/30/16: After picking the kids up from school I surprised them and took them to McDonald's with the playplace. Let them hang out there for two hours! I told them we can only eat fast food once a month, I don't want them getting into the habit etc. They had a lot of fun, met some new kids.

8/25/16: Got some nice cuddle time in with my cats.

8/26/16: I wasn't feeling too well so I had taken the rest of the day off work. Work had been overwhelming the past week due to issues I had no control over and customer's being very upset about their issues. I went back to sleep for awhile. Woke up and went to lunch with Josh, The Bite, and it was very tasty. Rested more before grabbing the kids, then the kids and I went to the KU Kickoff at Corinth Square in Prairie Village. While standing in line for their balloon animals there was an announcement that we were in a tornado watch. Never got terrible to where there was a tornado on the ground though.

8/27/16: We took the kids to Minor Park, Brodie complained almost the whole time. We got to see the Red Bridge with all the locks on it.

8/28/16: It makes me laugh when I make something simple for the kids and they just rave about it. They really like the Digornio pizza I chose for lunch yesterday.

8/24/16: Last night after homework and dinner the kids let me rest a little bit. When I got back up it was thundering out and I told Nomi that she may not be able to get her evening run in because it might rain. She said "NOPE!" Got dressed, shoes on, and out the door we went. She ran six laps, in the rain, laughing and smiling the whole time. Brodie stayed in his room most of the evening, playing his video game.

8/23/16: I found this recipe on pinterest for these corndog mini muffins, so I decided to give them a try for the kids. Made them for dinner last night and both kids did nothing but rave about them! "They are so good!" "They're amazing!" "This is the best thing you have ever made for us!" haha I am glad they liked them! Something simple I can make for them that they love. :)

8/22/16: Well, I was late getting up and getting the kids out the door to school and back home by 8. I was only 15 minutes late for work, so not terrible. But it did throw my day off some. So, Josh and I had a lazy day. We didn't cook dinner, he went to go pick up food for us. We watched tv and just hung out. It was nice.

8/19/16: Friday Josh got off work early but it was raining pretty good, we just went and grabbed dinner at Waldo Pizza than had a couple beers close to the house.

8/20/16: Saturday I went to the movies with one of my girl friends, we went to see Bad Moms. It was hilarious! We then grabbed a beer & a bite to eat afterwards. Very fun night!

8/21/16: Picked the kids up from their dad, then we went to Target. They each got a new book! Brodie's is about Pokemon and Naomi's is about a shy kitten.

8/17/16: Wednesday I made myself some pork chops and potato au gratin. It was delicious! Naomi enjoyed the potatoes but my chops were a little too spicy for her, but she did try them!

8/18/16: The Royals won, Alex Gordon hit a home run with the bases loaded! It was a great game.

8/16/16: Kids had their second full day at school and had a good day. When we got home they did homework, we all did chores - kids cleaned their room, Josh cleaned our room, and I cleaned the kitchen, then we ate dinner, Nomi and I went outside and she ran 20 laps, then inside Josh read us all a book, then it was bedtime! Trying a new routine with them so they have an easier school year, homework once we get home followed by snacks, dinner, running, bathtime (if needed), hang out a bit/book reading, then bed. They were so wore out last night, they were out in 30 minutes of laying down! Hopefully we can keep up this schedule :)

8/11/16: NAOMI TURNED 6!!!! Wednesday night I went to bed with her and we snuggled. In the morning we woke up, sang to her, she opened her presents. Then she was asking for cake, so we had cake and sang more to her. Then their dad picked the kids up early so he could spend time with her. Later that evening was a meet the teachers/ice cream social event at their school. I met up with them and we met their teachers, they had ice cream, and got everything figured out for their first day of school!

8/12/16: The kids had their first days of school as a second grader and first grader. It was only a half day. I picked them up, they told me they had a good day. Had some kids from their previous classes in their new classes so that was nice.

8/13/16: Saturday the boys played a new video game and were bonding over it. After taking Josh to work, on the way home there was some fella dressed as a banana on a motorcycle behind us! Brodie and I saw him, Naomi was asleep and missed him. We then went thrifting and I made a hat rack for our entry way.

8/14/16: The kids actually let me sleep in on Sunday and then made a comment "aren't you glad we let you sleep!" ha! The day before they woke up at 7am, this day they let me sleep until 10! We had a simple day, took Josh to work and then hung out at home.

8/15/16: Josh and I had a nice lazy day at home. We ordered to-go for dinner and just watched TV. It was a nice lazy day, stayed in my robe most of the day.

8/10/16: The kids' Nana came over for a little bit to hang out to drop off Nomi's birthday presents and watch her open them. After she left Nomi and I went to Dollar General to grab stuff for cake. We ordered take out, I baked the cake, and then we gave one of the cats a bath. haha Fun evening :)

8/9/16: The kids came home! This week we are getting back in routine for the school year and for Naomi's 6th birthday! :)

8/8/16: After doing things for everyone else I treated myself. Bought some new shoes -- that were on sale, a new dress, tank tops, and some cat ears (headbands). :)

8/4/16: FaceTime'd with the kids at their Nana's. Naomi & her Nana rescued another kitten, the third this summer. Can't wait till they're back!

8/5/16: Christy & Mike had their rehearsal dinner. Great food, great company. Then Josh and I had a couple drinks after he got off work.

8/6/16: Our friends Christy & Mike got married! I was one of the bridesmaids. The day started out rough but ended on a wonderful note.

8/7/16: Ran some errands for the house and the kids. Got Naomi's backbag for school, supplies to make an art wall at home, stuff for the kitties, groceries for dinner. I was so very tired but there ain't no rest for the wicked, I guess.

8/3/16: Josh worked so I was home and I kept myself busy. I made cornbread muffins and banana bread.Then I watched Space Jam, The Wedding Singer, and Little Monsters. It was a nice little night alone.

8/2/16: I called and was able to obtain some information for after school care for the kids through the Y. I did laundry last night. I felt I got a lot accomplished.

8/1/16: First day of August. Kids go back to school this month. Yesterday was an ok day. Josh went to a movie by himself and I stayed home, napped, then showered. Nothing too exciting.

7/29/16: Friday I planned to do things, but after Josh got off work he brought some pho home and so I didn't go do anything. ha

7/30/16: I had won passes to a BBQ fest, Pig & Swig, and went to that. Enjoyed some BBQ, helped a friend out with their pouring tent (MCBC), got out of the house for awhile. It was fun.

7/31/16: I bought a new dress that I could not pass up. It was the last one, it was on sale, and it made me feel very beautiful. All of that rolled into one, doesn't happen often!

7/28/16: Yesterday Josh worked and I stayed home. I cleaned and organized. Cleaned out my filing cabinet, one drawer is completely empty now and the other is more organized. Cleaned out the bottom drawer of the microwave stand. Put things aside from the coat/shoe closet that I want to get donate. I felt very accomplished doing all the things. I even cleaned the toilet and bathtub! :)

7/25/16: Josh went to his place to go through stuff and pack/bring over to my place. He moved his couch, bed, dresser into his storage.

7/26/16: Josh went to go see his son and get some stuff for him for school. We then went to his place to grab the last load of things. Filled the car up, he gave back the key. And it got real. ha :) we then went out for a couple drinks and ended the night at home, our home.

7/27/16: It's real, Josh and I live together. We still need to organize his things with my things, but we are doing it together. I am very happy about it. Though it would be a nicer if we weren't sick...I caught something on the way back from the lake and then he caught it from me. Clorox wiping everything down and taking meds. We'll be ok soon enough and be able to enjoy each other better.

7/21/16: Thursday I finished up rounding things up for our trip over the weekend. Ben dropped the kids off while I was doing some laundry at the laundromat (the washer/dryer in my building do not work well). Got everything cleaned in just an hour and a half! We then grabbed Josh from work and came home.

7/22/16: Nomi and I ran a couple errands and grabbed some lunch for the family before we headed out. Josh got the oil changed in the car and then we were on the road to Golden, MO. Table Rock Lake weekend! When we got to town we checked and settled into our hotel room. grabbed a snack and then headed to Josh's grandparents' house. The kids met the grandparents, Josh's dad, and his aunt. We all then went and had a dip in Table Rock Lake, which was warm, before heading back to the hotel for dinner and bedtime.

7/23/16: After waking up we all got ready to head to Roaring River. We hiked up and down, got all sorts of sweaty. Changed into our swimsuits and walked down the river. The water was so much colder than the lake water. I caught a fish. Nomi and I both caught tadpoles. Brodie was swimming so well and had his goggles so he was able to see the fish underwater. We then went back to the hotel, cleaned up, ate, and then went to the grandparents again. The kids got into the lake with Josh's dad, Vince. We then went back to the hotel for dinner and bedtime.

7/24/16: Sunday we woke up early, washed up, loaded the car and went to the grandparents house one last time. One the way there Nomi was saying how she wanted to come back. We just hung out at the grandparents house before heading back home. We did stop in Cassville for lunch and then hit the road home. The kids slept on & off for a little bit. We asked the their favorite thing about the trip... "TABLE ROCK LAKE" :) They had a great time and we did too!

7/20/16: I got some unexpected good news about my raise and it made me very happy. :)

7/15/16: Friday we went to dinner and then went to catch some Pokemon on the Independence Square. We = Josh & I.

7/16/16: Saturday Josh wasn't feeling too well. But we were able to make it to Super Flea and started a series (already finished as well) Stranger Things. We then went to see our friend Laremey, had a couple drinks, then went home and chilled out.

7/17/16: Sunday my friend Mark had an extra ticket to Buzz Beachball and asked me if I wanted to go. It was a fun time, saw some great bands and got to hang out in VIP (free food & drinks & A/C). It was a fun time.

7/18/16: Monday Josh and I went to see the new Ghostbusters. Was funnier than I expected, I enjoyed it.

7/19/16: Josh and I went grocery shopping for the weekend trip to Table Rock so we weren't eating out the whole time. We also got the kids watershoes so they didn't hurt their feet on any of the rocks at the lake.

7/14/16: I baked my first salmon last night. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it turned out pretty well! I made that and a pasta salad with shrimp. It was all pretty tasty.

7/13/16: I hung out with my friend Megan whom I haven't seen in awhile. We went to see 'Lights Out', I had two free passes so she was my date. Creepy movie but great company!

7/12/16: After I picked the kids up from their Nana, we went to dinner -- IHOP! They were pretty excited about that. Then we went to Wal-Mart to get life jackets and beach towels. Then after the kids went to bed and I finished my movie, I went in their room to snuggle with Naomi and go to sleep as well. It was a nice night with my kids that I needed.

7/11/16: After the kids' Nana picked them up, I took a much needed nap and then Josh & grabbed some BBQ. We ate at the Liberty Memorial which was teaming with Pokemon! Caught a few new ones there. There were also a ton of people who were chasing the Pokemon. It was awesome.

7/8/16: So the kids were picked up early by their dad and he had them over the weekend. Friday night after Josh got off work we went to dinner and then drinks after. I also downloaded Pokemon Go to play along with Josh and the kids.

7/9/16: Saturday Josh and I went to Local Pig for lunch and we also got some smoked honey and bone marrow butter! I made pork chops and pasta salad for dinner and it was delicious.

7/10/16: I picked the kids up from their dad's, saw their new kitten, and then we watched a couple hours of InuYasha on Netflix. We then picked Josh up from work and came home/went to bed.

7/7/16: The kids and I watched a lot of My Little Pony yesterday. It's one of Naomi's favorite shows and Brodie doesn't really mind too much. There was one episode where two donkey's were getting married and it brought everyone in Ponyville together. It was very sweet.

7/6/16: The kids came home! Gah I missed them SO much!! We watched movies and ordered pizza. They told me about what they did at their grandparents and the new kitten at their dad's.

7/5/16: I received all positive notes on a customer survey at work and received a half day PTO to use whenever!

6/30/16: I facetime'd with the kids and it made me very happy to see and talk to them.

7/1/16: Friday I had a doctor's appointment (everything is ok) and the day off. I slept most of the day. That night we (Josh & I) danced in his driveway.

7/2/16: Saturday it rained a ton. We got pho to go. Got home and got cozy.

7/3/16: After Josh got off work we came back to my place, had a couple beers, then went to bed. It

7/4/16: Independence Day! We (Josh & I) watched the fireworks from Liberty Memorial. We could see them all across the city, it was really neat.

6/29/16: It was a really nice night. The cats and I hung out on the balcony listening to music for awhile.

6/28/16: I ordered my friend, Christy's, bridal gift. I hope she likes it. We (Josh & I) dropped off the kids' old kitchen play set to his sister's so her son can play with it. It's a pretty big kitchen set! The kids really loved it when they were younger, I'm sure Cohen will too.

6/22/16: The kids were picked up by their Nana at about 6:30pm on Wednesday. This summer I haven't seen much of them, but I know they're having a fun summer with their grandparents and are staying entertained while with them. Josh came over after work.

6/23/16: I had a doctor's appointment that took up most of the morning. Then I came home, napped with Josh. That was nice.

6/24/16: Friday I stayed home, I wasn't feeling too well. Josh went to work and came back home. I like him coming home to me.

6/25/16: I was supposed to go to my girl friend's bridal shower, but I wasn't feeling well so I had stayed home. Just relaxed all night, didn't do much.

6/26/16: Earlier in the day I wasn't feeling too well, but afternoon/evening I was feeling better. I went to Target...got a pair of new sandals and a selfie stick! ha. Picked Josh up from work and showed him the selfie stick I got, tried it out. We laughed :)

6/27/16: We went to Nara for dinner last night. Yum, sushi! Then, because I had been stuck at home most of the weekend, I went to the Liberty Memorial. Just hung out there for an hour or so. It was calm. The sunset was very pretty. It was nice to be out of the house. Came home to Josh and we just watched tv and ate Pizza Hut.

6/17/16: I wasn't feeling so well, so Josh went to work and then came home. After he came home-he didn't close so he was off early-we went for a walk around Loose Park. It was very nice.

6/18/16: Saturday I made this pretty tasty salad with a homemade honey dijon dressing. I did add some brussel sprouts but I'm not really sure how to make them so they didn't turn out too well.

6/19/16: Sunday was Father's Day. Missed my grandpa like crazy. I also cleaned the kids' room and rearranged it. Went through their toys and clothes.

6/20/16: Josh and I went to see 'Now You See Me 2" and I fell asleep during the movie. I was pretty tired.

6/21/16: The kids' dad and I's divorce is official and the kids came back! The four of us (kids, Josh, and I) went to see 'Finding Dory' and it was really cute!

6/14/16: Josh and I just hung out and watched movies/ate pizza. We took some of the funniest snap chat pictures together. Made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants! haha :)

6/15/16: My Siamese cat (Zoey) and I shared some strawberry cream cheese on a bagel. Didn't think she'd like it, but she did! I'm going to get her salmon flavored cream cheese to see if she likes it.

6/16/16: I had a meeting with my lawyer and Ben (the kids' dad) to finalize all our paperwork for our divorce. A huge weight has been lifted and there is some relief. Tuesday, once the judge signs, it will be official.

6/13/16: The kids were home all day, they were getting stir crazy because they didn't have their electronics. But it was nice to have them home and being around them. Their Nana came to pick them up and they're off to Ellsworth again. Josh had gotten tickets for us to watch the Royals game, so we went to that. They won! Before the game we got dinner and I got a LC's bbq pork sandwich which was SO delicious. It was a good day and night, something I needed. :)

6/10/16: Friday I stayed home. I took a long nap after work and then went to get some food for dinner from BK and Taco Bell. Had quite the interesting time while trying to get BK!

6/11/16: Saturday I slept pretty late and then for dinner I went to Bier Station, had a sandwich and some frites. It was very delicious. Driving back home I was behind a car that looked like it had a happy face.

6/12/16: The kids came back! They came home, their Nana dropped them off. Naomi and I went to Target because I had to get a new printer and we all got new swimwear for the summer as well. It is very great to have them back!

6/8/16: Wednesday Josh worked. I napped after work, then went up to see him.

6/9/16: After work I napped and then Sasquatch and I cuddled while watching The Book of Life. It is a very cute movie, I liked it a lot. And I liked Sassy's cuddles :)

6/7/16: We played mini-golf and Josh won. I was pretty terrible at it, but it was all in good fun.

6/6/16: We (Josh and I) got a Costco membership and then we tried out this new (to us) Greek/Mediterranean place down the street. It was pretty tasty!

6/3/16: After Josh got off work we went to Martin City Brewing Company and I had a really delicious brussell sprout salad. It was so good!

6/4/16: My sister turned 36 on this day! I also had a girl day with my friend Keri, we went to the Bodies exhibit at Union Station then had some snacks at the Belfry and then went to this super tiny dive bar (Zoo Bar) and had a fun time with the bartender--she was this tiny little lady who was so nice and sweet. It was a very fun day.

6/5/16: I made Josh this chicken thighs dinner with mushrooms. He said it was really good. I (still) haven't had any as of yet. Glad he enjoyed it though! I like cooking for him and him enjoying what I cook.

6/2/16: I wasn't feeling very well so after work I slept most of the evening/night away. Woke up for a little bit to eat some pizza and watch High Fidelity (one of my favorite movies), then went back to sleep until Josh came home. We talked a bit, then he went to wind down from work and I went back to sleep.

6/1/16: It's June! Halfway through the year. I went to Sonic for dinner and when they brought out my food they gave me a free cherry limeade token for the "wait". There wasn't even that much of a wait to be honest. I will have a nice little treat sometime.

5/26/16: Because of the storms on Wednesday, the kids and their Nana didn't leave until Thursday. Thursday night, I went to Josh's work and then we stayed at my house from Thursday through Tuesday afternoon.

5/27/16: Josh bought me a couple of aloe vera plants that I have been wanting for a few weeks now. Then, I had a happy hour at a bar down in the Power & Light district here in town. I had a little too much fun. It was nice to see the friends that showed up.

5/28/16: Saturday I spent the day and night sleeping off the hangover from the night before. Just hung out at home until picking Josh up from work and bringing him over to the house.

5/29/16: Sunday was pretty lazy. I made pork loin chops with asparagus for dinner. It was super delicious. Bought my first cast iron skillet to make them.

5/30/16: I didn't have to work and neither did Josh, so we slept in. When we finally got up and around we went to Tapcade to watch the new X Men movie. It was all right!

5/31/16: We didn't have to work (again) so (again) we slept in. Once finally we got around, we went to Crane Brewing and picked up a beer, then we went to Old Time Pottery to find some pots for the plants--which Josh found a cat pot it is so cute and funny, then we went to grab food and his house. Where we watched some shows, made dinner and then went to bed.

5/25/16: Picked up the kids last night and came home. Naomi and I went outside for awhile to play while it was still nice out while Brodie stayed inside. We watched some movies and hung out. Their Nana is going to pick them up today (5/26/16) and keep them in Ellsworth for a few weeks. So we're trying to get all the lovings in that we can with each other before they're on summer vacation! :)

5/24/16: I didn't have to pick the kids up after work yesterday, they decided to stay with their Nana (which was fine by me). Josh and I hung out at my house, grabbed take out, watched some shows, and then later on went to his house. It was very nice, considering how busy my work week has been.

5/23/16: Josh had stayed over Sunday to Monday after he got off work. Monday after I got off work we took a little nap together then went and had a bite. We then went to the grocery to grab some stuff so he could make dinner. My stomach wasn't feeling too well after we ate earlier, so he made dinner but I had fallen asleep. He made a delicious shrimp and pasta meal (I ate my leftovers today 5/24/16). :)

5/20/16: The kids' field day at school was on Thursday. However, Friday Brodie brought home a ribbon he received from field day! He got 3rd place out of all the first grade boys in the running thing. Pretty awesome!

5/21/16: Naomi and I had a girls afternoon and went to Comic Con! She dressed as Spider Girl and I dressed as Pizza Steve. We had a great time! Brodie didn't want to go, I didn't make or force him.

5/22/16: Marks 10 years with my company. Nine years in my position. Quite the accomplishment.

5/19/16: We had game night with our friends. I won in Cards Against Humanity and then Laurie and I took third in Blokus. It was a fun time with all of them.

5/17/16: Josh had stayed over from Monday and the four of us (kids, Josh, and I) just hung out and watched some movies. Naomi drew pictures of Josh & I, they're very sweet.

5/18/16: I wrote notes to the kids' teachers. As the school year is coming to an end (last day is Monday!) I wanted to let them know how I appreciated them making learning and the school year fun for the kids. I hope the kids remember to give the notes to them today (5/19/16)! lol :)

5/16/16: Naomi had stayed home from school yesterday because she had complained of a stomachache (she had one the night before too). So she stayed home with me, Brodie went to school. After I got off work I took her to her dad's and she said she was feeling a lot better. Then I went back home, ate a whole pizza, watched some Netflix, then picked up my boyfriend and grabbed some Vietnamese take-out, then came home and watched some HBO. Pretty relaxed night for a Monday! Lots of food. ha :)

5/12/16: Didn't do much. I took a very nice selfie of myself in a new hat. haha :)

5/13/16: Kids' school had a carnival, they were with their dad and his girlfriend but I still met up with them to hang out for a little bit. They played in jump houses and Naomi got her face painted...like a cat! :)

5/14/16: I got a new tattoo! It's a macaroni and cheese and they're holding hands. It is so cute!

5/15/16: Kids and I went to Panera Bread for dinner. It was very nice.

5/11/16: The kids are on a field trip today (5/12/16) to the symphony. As I picked them up from school yesterday they told me that they had to be "fancy" for it. So once we got home, we picked out their outfits. Well, I picked out Brodie's outfit. Naomi brought five different dresses out and asked me to help her decide which one she should wear. They were very excited for the symphony and I am sure they're having a great time.

5/10/16: After picking the kids up from school and after I was off work, we took the kids to this park that is closest to Josh's house. Let them play for awhile to burn off some energy. Dropped Josh off at home then went home ourselves. Kids went to bed pretty quickly after we got home.

5/6/16: The kids didn't come over until around noon on Friday and when they did all the kids (Bro, Nomi, and Cora) were all excited to play together. We just ordered pizza and stayed home, relaxed, watched movies.

5/7/16: FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! We got ready and headed to Elite comics to grab some free comics. We saw a couple friends. They had cake but it was all gone by the time we got there. So afterwards we went to the grocery and grabbed cupcakes. Came home, made early dinner, took a nap. Played outside for awhile. Went through boxes.

5/8/16: MOTHER'S DAY! We woke up early because we had to take Tisha & Cora to the airport. After dropping them off, we headed back home. I went back to sleep for awhile. Then the kids napped. It was a nice relaxing day. The kids gave me cards and what they made at school. The kids also got me some lipgloss! Then after dropping the kids off with their dad, my friend Laremy and I went to see the new Captain America movie (Civil War) which was fantastic. And then we went to Josh's work--which was the first time in a week that we saw each other.

5/9/16: Josh and I went to Mint to eat some sushi, then my place (because I forgot my purse at home Sunday night), then we went to Tapcade to watch the rest of the Royals game and grab a bite. We then went to Up Down (an arcade bar) and hung out. I got the second highest score on a Mario Bros game, that was pretty cool.

5/4/16: Wednesday was Star Wars Day! "May the Fourth be with you!" lol I wore one of Brodie's Star Wars shirts, we played outside after school/work for awhile and then we all went to bed early.

5/5/16: I PICKED MY SISTER & NIECE UP FROM THE AIRPORT!! I cried when I saw them and gave/received the biggest sister hug. They're here till Sunday and I am so so so happy!! :)

5/3/16: Brodie went to bed around 5 yesterday evening, he just said he was really tired. I think his allergies were getting to him. So Naomi and I kind of had a girl's night. We ate pizza, helped paint her nails, and watched Barbie Life in the Dream House. It was very fun.

5/2/16: Stayed home and relaxed. Watched some "oldie but goodie" movies on Netflix that just got added. Went to bed early and actually didn't wake up tired. Two more days until my sister is here, too.

4/28/16: Thursday, Josh got off work early so I picked him up and then we just ordered pizza and stayed home. Not much going on. While I was home both of my cats were very sweet to me, which was very nice.

4/29/16: After work on Friday, we loaded the car and we (Josh & I) headed to Table Rock Lake to visit his family (grandparents, dad, & aunts). The drive down was kind of crazy as it was raining almost the whole time and there were some twisty turvy roads. But we made it.

4/30/16: We spent most of the day at his grandparents house. Josh's dad told old stories and we rode around on the golf carts, his dad showing us around the "village" where they live.

5/1/16: We woke up early and got ready, after packing up the car we drove to Roaring River and checked out the spring and hatchery. Then headed home. It was a very nice weekend full of laughs and smiles.

4/27/16: Naomi stayed home from school, she claims she wasn't feeling well, so she hung out on the couch with me and while I worked she watched PBS Kids. I made hamburgers for the kids for dinner. After dinner the kids took a bath and while they were doing that I was cleaning out the second closet in my bedroom. Making more space/throwing stuff away. I still didn't get to two boxes, but I'll get to them eventually. Spring cleaning, ya'll! haha

4/26/16: I picked up the kids from school and we talked about what to make for dinner, something with chicken or hamburger. Naomi likes chicken, Brodie likes hamburger. Neither can agree on the meat. So I just decided. Anyway! I made this really delicious sweet potato pasta, chicken, mushroom, butter sauce meal for Naomi and I. Brodie made himself a PBJ sammy. lol Then after dinner, I put on Yo-Kai Watch for the kids and took an hour long relaxing bath. That was so nice. Just sitting there getting my thoughts together. There were big thunderstorms last night too, I slept so well. Still a little tired when I woke up, but not too much.

4/19/16: We picked out Brodie's cupcakes and cookie cake for his birthday. Brodie also got to open his birthday present from his Aunties Tisha & Tara and cousin Cora, as well as the gifts from me. It was also my friend Laremy's birthday.

4/20/16: BRODIE'S 7TH BIRTHDAY! I woke him up by singing to him. He took cupcakes to school to celebrate. At home I made homemade cowboy macaroni (macaroni & cheese with hamburger) and then we sang to Brodie and had some cookie cake.

4/21/16: It's not necessarily a "happy moment/memory" but a singer, Prince, passed away. He was one of those artists that did whatever he wanted, showed that it was ok to be yourself and not to care what people think.

4/22/16: We didn't do much, the kids were pretty excited for Saturday though. We went to bed early so we'd be rested for all the jumping we'd be doing the next day!

4/23/16: SKY ZONE DAY! We went to Sky Zone for Brodie's birthday, didn't have a party because all he wanted to do was jump. Our friends came, Brodie got a few things. Then he picked where we'd eat afterwards (Chick Fil A). It was a very nice day.

4/24/16: Sunday the kids and I cleaned the house. I appreciate their help when it comes to things like that. Naomi likes to clean more than Brodie so she was off cleaning and picking up everything!

4/25/16: Not much going on. Ate like a king for dinner, a Burger King that is ;) ha ha ha.. Watched a couple movies on Amazon Prime (Nasty Baby & I Smile Back). Pretty intense movies. Took a late shower. Had a good night's sleep.

4/18/16: I was actually having a really terrible day yesterday. But after a nap I decided I couldn't just lay around any more and be sad so I went to the movies. I saw The Jungle Book. It was great. Then I got a sandwich from Jimmy John's, went home and turned on Silver Linings Playbook--my go-to "feels" movie.

4/14/16: I got to see my friends Kerri and her husband Scott. She gave me this cat tapestry that she found while thrifting and it is great.

4/15/16: Josh got off work early and we came to my place, he made this really good pasta dish. I fell asleep on the couch, like always.

4/16/16: I went to the Overland Park Farmer's Market in the morning, purchased some flavored pastas some lavender kombucha some morels and lunch to go. Then Josh and I had an early dinner with his family at Vietnam Cafe, that was really fun. That evening I checked out a couple new places in town and had some nice conversations with "strangers".

4/17/16: Picked the kids up from their dad on Sunday. Over the weekend Brodie got a couple early birthday gifts, one of which was that Yo-Kai Watch 3DS game. He was SO excited and happy to play it. It was all he could talk about.

4/13/16: Finished one of my shows, weird ending. Took some pictures of Zoey kitty, because she usually hides away. And watched some more Yo-Kai Watch with the kids. We then ate dinner on the living room floor while we watched the kids' show. It was a good evening. I like my no-fuss nights with the kids.

4/12/16: My daughter actually told my boyfriend that she loved him and he told her that he loved her back. She's told me many times that she loves him and he's part of our family, etc. But she actually told him. It was very sweet.

4/11/16: So, I finally got to check out my images from my photoshoot I did back in February. The photos are beautiful. I can't even begin to describe them. Looking at them I knew it was me, but I could hardly recognize myself. And not because I looked totally different, but because these pictures were of this super beautiful woman and some days it's hard to view myself as such. I know I am, but these pictures were a great reminder of that. I can't wait for Josh to see them. I hope he likes them as much as I do.

4/8/16: Friday Naomi and I drew and colored some pictures. I then turned on ET since the kids have never watched it before and Brodie fell asleep on my lap.

4/9/16: Saturday the kids and I stayed home and Netflix & chilled all day. We watched an entire season of Yo-Kai Watch (for Brodie) and then Naomi and I watched the first two episodes of Lego Friends, some My Little Pony, and some Powerpuff Girls.

4/10/16: We were pretty lazy on Sunday too, the only thing we really did was clean the house. I cleaned the kitchen and both kids kept complimenting "wow mom, the kitchen looks so nice!" ha

4/7/16: My cats make me happy. If that makes me a crazy cat lady, I am 100% ok with that! ha! Last night, I caught my Siamese (Zoey) playing with her reflection in the hallway mirror and it was hilarious! Then, I laid down on my couch to take a nap and my Maine Coon (Sasquatch) came to cuddle with me. But instead of cuddling next to me, that huge dude came up and laid straight up on my head! haha He was purring like crazy, so I know he was happy. I love those pets of mine, I don't know what I would do without them.

4/6/16: So my son is super into this new game/show called Yo-Kai Watch. He has mentioned several billion times how he wants this game for his 3ds for his birthday--to which his sister has already said she'll get for him. Well, he will watch youtube videos of people playing the game and what not. Yesterday he found that there's a show of this game and was excited about it. I didn't know if it was on TV on a certain channel or what, so I said that maybe his dad could download it for him. WELL! After the kids went to bed I was searching on Netflix for something to watch. GUESS WHAT I FOUND!!! Yo-Kai Watch! haha I think it's the first season, but I couldn't wait to tell Brodie this morning about it. I was so happy when I found it last night! :)

4/5/16: Watched a new series on Amazon Prime, Catastrophe, and it is so funny! I loved it. Also, Josh actually stayed over until late last night. Usually on Tuesday's if he stays over he heads home around 7, but he was over until 9 or a little after. I really enjoyed his company there with the kids and me. I'm sure they enjoyed it too!

4/4/16: Yesterday was probably one of the better days I have had in awhile. And we didn't even do much. I worked, Josh had stayed over from Sunday night after the game. After work we just hung out, then went to the grocery to get stuff for dinner. Then home, watched some movies (a couple were terrible but we still watched them and laughed), ate tacos. I absolutely love laughing with him. Everything else goes away.

3/31/16: I had a pretty funny dream, Josh and I came to my place and he opened my bedroom door and my cat (Sasquatch) was hanging out on the bed. (the cats aren't allowed in my room) But he wasn't just like, regular cat style hanging out...he was like cartoony hanging out? Idk, it was silly.

4/1/16: No one played any pranks on me! That made me very happy! :)

4/2/16: I watched a couple awful movies at home. It was nice because I just lounged on the couch watching these awful movies, just chilling. Nice alone time.

4/3/16: ROYALS OPENING DAY!!! We went to watch the Royals beat the Mets (again) on the first game back. It was a lot of fun. Hung out with friends, ate hot dogs, tried sauerkraut for the first time! ha

3/30/16: Brodie stayed home from school because his head was hurting, he had complained about it the night before too. He gets bad allergies during this time of year and that's probably what it was from. During the afternoon he came out on the couch to hang out with me for a minute before going back to lay down. While he was out here, I was asking if he was hungry or needed a snack or drink, all to which he said no to. Then I found my Reese's egg candy (the only one I had) and asked if he wanted to share it. "YES!" So we split that. It was a nice little moment between us :)

3/29/16: Work was pretty slow and that was nice. Made the kids dinner pretty early, took Josh home, came back home and ate dinner myself and the kids & I watched "The Last Unicorn". It was one of my favorite movies as a kid so I was very happy about watching it with my kids!

3/28/16: Josh and I went to see Batman vs Superman last night. Reviews for it was either good or bad. And it was way better than the expectations I had for it. I'd see it again, but I wouldn't pay to see it again...Josh would. ha! There were funny one liners and scenes that made me laugh a lot. We had a good night, a lot of laughs. Fun night.

3/25/16: Friday night the kids and I just chilled out, watched movies, went to bed early because we had to wake up early the next day.

3/26/16: Kids and I woke up early because we had to meet up with my friend Christy and her other bridesmaids for wedding dress & bridesmaid dress shopping! The kids were all right, a couple times I had to get on them but for the most part they were good. We then went to lunch and they played and played, then went to Josh's while I went Easter shopping.

3/27/16: EASTER! Kids were up early, of course. I had made a chocolate candy egg trail from their rooms to their baskets. They were very excited for their baskets and what was in them. One of the things, I think, they were more excited about was these little planters to grow flowers. Brodie's had daisy seeds and Naomi sunflowers. We planted them and now we wait! Naomi kept checking on them to see if they had grown yet.

3/24/16: I took a really long nap after work and watched KU make it to the Elite Eight (March Madness).

3/23/16: I bought the kids new bed sheets. Naomi chose Monster High and I got Brodie Star Wars. Naomi also picked out a Shopkins throw blanket. She told me that she would start sleeping in her own bed if she got new sheets. And she did! She didn't fight or fuss. I kept a nightlight on for her. They both slept in their room together (separate beds) all night. I'm glad they like their new sheets. :)

3/10/16 through 3/20/16:

The kids were on Spring Break so I spent this time with Josh. We got the car fixed, he took a couple Saturdays off so we could hang out, we ate out, watched a couple movies, had a few adventures.

I had a really great time being with him and it helped keep my mind from missing the kids more than I already did.

Sunday, 3/20/16: the kids came back and we were all so excited to see each other. We went to dinner and then home and watched some movies.

3/21/16: I caught a bad cold. But Josh came over and helped take care of me.

3/22/16: Josh was still over, let me take a nap after work and he looked after the kids. Then I gave him my grocery list and he went shopping for me. I am very grateful for him and lucky to have him in our lives.

3/8/16: The kids went to school, I picked them up. After work, I took a nap. Josh was here so he hung out with the kids and he helped Naomi with her homework from the day before. It made me very happy that he was there to help her.

3/9/16: So I will do another 3/9/16 post because I am sure that it will be better... But today, I know I am supposed to only post happy/positive moments but today so far has not been good. I had car trouble this morning, I wasn't able to take the kids to school and their dad was less than helpful. But now, the kids are off to school--their dad picked them up, and I won't see them again until they're back from their grandparent's house after spring break. At this moment, I just want to watch sad movies and eat thin mints and cry and then sleep. I know it's not positive and I should be trying to find the good in every day...but today it is SO HARD.

3/3/16: I don't think anything bad or good happened this day. It was a Thursday. I got to see Josh again. That is always a treat.

3/4/16: After Josh got off work we went to my house to spend the evening. Nothing crazy, just watched House of Cards. I fell asleep on his lap.

3/5/16: We saw a couple of our friends whom we haven't seen in a really long time, Tara & Mike. Night got crazy, but it was good to see them.

3/6/16: Josh lost something VERY important to him. We looked all over, couldn't find them, looked at a friend's house we were at the night before and couldn't find them. He went to work, I went back to his house to look and BAM...found them within a couple minutes of me searching on the floor on my hands and knees. PHEW. :)

3/7/16: Josh and I had a really amazing date night. Consisted of Char Bar and I ate the shit out of some bbq, then we went to McCormick & Schmick's and had dessert and a cocktail, then watched a movie then home. It was just really nice.

3/7/16: The kids stayed home from school on this day, both complained of stomach aches. We slept in and watched movies (Home, MLP, Sofia the First). They're going to be out of town this Thursday after school through the 20th for spring break. I am going to miss them like CRAZY! So I was ok with them staying home.

3/2/16: The kids and I didn't really do much, we watched a few movies on Netflix and ate dinner. They were both good and we all just had a nice, relaxing night in.

2/26/16: We just had a good night, kids went to bed early. It was nice.

2/27/16: Kids and I went thrifting, got them a few clothes and Naomi got a princess castle tent. It was a nice day.

2/28/16: Watched the Oscars at my boyfriend's bar, wasn't a too bad of a night. Our friend, Jamie, came in and it was great seeing him!

2/29/16: I hung out with one of my friends who has known me the longest, about 15 years. Met her new boyfriend, she met my new boyfriend. I had a really fun night, laughed a lot.

3/1/16: My boyfriend got me a Fire TV thing, where I can hook it up to my tv and be able to watch Netflix & Amazon Prime. He does the littlest things for me, things I never even asked for or said I wanted/needed. I love that man.

2/25/16: I had given each of the kids $10 for the book fair at their school and yesterday was the last day. I had text their dad and told them, he was able to take them to the book fair (it's his days on Thursdays) and they each got some books that they really wanted. It made them happy and their love of books/reading makes me happy.

These are my kids. They are my life and their smiles make me the happiest person.

2/24/16: One of the people running for president was in town yesterday. On the way home from school I was telling the kids about it. They had asked things that he's "about" so we talked about that, then proceeded to talk about the other candidates and what they are "about." We then all talked about if we were president, what we would do... I cannot tell you how proud my kids make me. They both talked about how they would try to abolish racism, that everyone should be kind to one another like what MLK Jr. said. My son then started talking about how he would plant more trees, for all the trees that have been cut down, because we need the trees. They're six and five and they are so smart. :)

** On 2/18/16: I also had a photoshoot on this day and it was super fun and I cannot wait to see the results!**


2/22/16: It was National Margarita Day and you bet your ass I had a margarita with dinner! Josh and I went to Salty Iguana for dinner then went home to watch movies. Very nice, relaxing, quiet evening.


2/23/16:  The kids and I went to dinner to visit my friend Megan, who I haven't seen in a few weeks. It was really good seeing her. My daughter made her a valentine and then wrote a couple notes on the receipts for you. My daughter also wore her footie pj's with a pair of pj pants over them to dinner. FANCY! HA!

2/17/16: I honestly cannot recall all events that occurred on this date, but I don't think anything bad happened.


2/18/16: Saw a couple friends I hadn't seen in awhile. That was nice.


2/19/16: I went shopping, got a couple new outfits.


2/20/16: I got my hair done! It is lighter and trimmed up. Love it!!


2/21/16: Took the kids to dinner and we had a fun time.

2/15/16: Got a new tire for my car that was cheap & saw Deadpool with my boyfriend. I wore a red dress that I had been so excited to wear (for Be-lated Valentine's date). It was a nice day.

2/16/16: Josh's Valentine's gift to the kids was a movie, so we went to see Kung Fu Panda 3. It was actually pretty silly. We all had a good time.

2/12/16: The kids had their Valentine's Day parties at school and they were so happy & excited to tell me about what they did. I love hearing about their days in school.

2/13/16: I went shopping for the kids' Valentine presents. They were simple--socks/tights, stuffed animal (cat & dog), candy & some flowers.

2/14/16: Valentine's Day! I made the kids a big breakfast (biscuits & gravy, pancakes, eggs, & bacon). We made each other Valentine cards & we just hung out together all day. It was great!

2/l1/16: I got to hang out with one of my friends who I haven't seen in a very long time. We had a lot of laughs. I need to see her more often. Very fun time :)

2/10/16: I found a little love note from my boyfriend and it made me very happy.

2/8/16: I ordered lunch from this place down the street, Pickleman's, and they had the most delicious tomato basil soup. I know that's a random happy moment, but it was SO good. Good food fills the soul.

2/9/16: I created my daughter a private snap chat account because she loves doing the silly face filters. So now we can snap chat each other.

2/5/16: Bought two dresses for Valentine's Day. One is for the actual day, because Josh works and I will have the kids until 5. After I drop them off, I plan to get ready and head to Josh's work lookin' all fancy! :) The other is for the next day for our date.

2/6/16: I slept in and it was great.

2/7/16: The kids and I ate IHop for dinner, their request. They'd been asking me all last week that when I picked them up if we could eat IHop. So, we did. It was fun.

2/4/16:  I barely watched tv. I wasn't feeling too well and after work laid in bed the rest of the night. But it was nice not to have the nonsense of tv in the background. I don't watch much tv anyway, but it helped me think better--with the tv off. I enjoyed the silence.

2/3/16: My best friend, Tuyen, and I were getting into details of how our next (and last) wedding would go, who we'd invite, all the silly little details. It makes me happy because I know that she found what & who she deserves and so have I. Our entire friendship, we were with the wrong people. We realized within the last few years that we deserve better, and our counterparts do too. I am very happy for her. She is one of my best friends and I know she was knocked down for awhile, but she's standing tall now. Makes me smile.

2/2/16: My daughter is just like me, there is no denying that she and I are the same. Yesterday after school she was playing with her baby dolls and likes to put on her old baby clothes on them. She pulled out this long sleeper that she and her brother had from the hospital. It was too big for her dolls so I suggested (all jokingly) to put our male cat in it. She did and it was hilarious. He let her do it, he laid around in it and let her hold him in it for awhile. But once he was done, he was DONE. haha It was super silly.

Side note: when I was my daughter's age I wrapped the cat we owned in my baby stroller and strolled her around.

1/29/16: I signed my divorce papers and my case has been filed!

1/30/16: The kids and I had a picnic and then went to the museum. We had a great time! My boyfriend stayed over, that was a pleasant surprise. The kids also helped me clean up the house!

1/31/16: I made some delicious pork chops, mashed potatoes, and gravy...all homemade. :)

2/1/16: It makes me feel happy when I am able to take care of one of my loves. My boyfriend has been not feeling well since Friday and he stayed over Sunday (again) and I took care of him. I made some homemade tea, made sure he was comfortable. We did go out to dinner to get some pho and I think he is starting to feel somewhat better.

1/28/16: I filed my taxes. Yay adulting!

1/27/16: I was able to pay rent early, read books with the kids, had a good evening. There wasn't anything crazy going on and nothing that upset me or made me anxious.

1/21/16: Bought my boyfriend new pants and I got myself a couple new headbands. And it made me realize I need to go shopping -- for the kids and myself, soon!

1/22/16: Ha! My boyfriend and I went out after he got off work. We stayed at a hotel down in westport because we are smart adults!

1/23/16: I got to see one of my very good friends, Christy. A bunch of us were out for dinner celebrating her fiancee's birthday. We ate at Fogo de Chao and it was delicious! SO MUCH MEAT! I also ate the bloodiest piece of meat I have ever ate and it was so good. I also didn't eat any ranch with my meat.

1/24/16: Asked the kids a series of questions and their answers were hilarious. They're so funny!

1/25/16: I took a very nice nap after work and cuddled with one of my cats. I also renewed my lease at my apartment.

1/26/16: I won a free Royals raglan shirt from Freelance and "won" (earned) a half day PTO at work!

1/20/16: My sister and I were discussing when she and her daughter can come visit my kids and me, and I AM SO EXCITE BIKE ABOUT IT!!! :) She and her fiancee visited us last year when the Royals were playing, we all went to a game together. Cora & Naomi are going to have so much fun together playing with baby dolls and their shopkins and youtube videos. It's going to be a fun weekend.

1/19/16: So my boyfriend (Josh) stayed over Monday night to Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon-ish, it started snowing and becoming slick. Being the hero that he is, Josh drove us to pick the kids up from school and back home. Then he drove us to his place (to be dropped off). I left, told him I'd text him when I got home. It was sweet when I did, he said he'd been a nervous wreck waiting for me to tell him we were safe at home. He really cares about us and that makes me feel really good.

1/15/16: When the kids and I got home Friday, after picking them up from their dad, the heat was off at the house. Well, not off like I didn't pay it, but off because the furnace was broken. Luckily my boyfriend saved the day (like always) and we packed up and stayed at his place over the weekend. The kids were very happy about that.

1/16/16: The kids and I had a lovely movie night. I made spaghetti and we just hung out while Josh worked. It was a very relaxing evening. After they went to bed and Josh got back home, we had some drinks (I drank a whole bottle of wine) and watched a documentary series and he ate the rest of the spaghetti. It made me excited for when we move in together, and that makes me very happy.

1/17/16: It snowed Saturday night so Sunday there was some snow on the ground. Not much, but some. The kids and I went to play out in it but it was SO cold. It was hurting my face so I begged the kids to go back inside. They finally agreed. We then hung out with Josh as his work before I had to take the kids to their dad.

1/18/16: I stayed the evening at Josh's and worked from his house Monday. It was a very relaxing day. I worked from bed, took a couple nap breaks. We had dinner at a place by my house and stayed here. He wasn't feeling too well so he took a nap, then while he was napping I fell asleep. When I woke up he was awake. He is a part of my happiness and I wouldn't have it any other way.

1/14/16: The best part of yesterday, I got some really great sleep. I came over to my boyfriends house, ate some pizza, fell asleep on the couch while he played some video games. Then we went to bed and I fell asleep while he put a movie on. I didn't wake up once. I needed that, so bad.

1/13/16: When I was picking the kids up from school yesterday, my daughter's class was outside first. As I am going over there, her teacher tells her goodbye and I give Nomi a hug. As I am tying her shoe, her teacher comes over and tells me that her reading skills have skyrocketed! Nomi is reading at just below a third grader. I really enjoyed hearing the positive feedback from my daughter's teacher. I am so very proud of both of my kids, but when someone else tells me how well they're doing in school or how proud they are of them, it makes me even happier!

1/12/16: Yesterday was a very rough day, and I'm still kind of stuck in my head and may be through the weekend. Anyway, my sister was there for me. It makes me feel extremely grateful and lucky to know I will always, always have her there..for advice, comforting, laughs, whatever. Though she's freaking a million miles away (maybe an exaggeration, she's in CT), she can lift my spirits like no one else can. Words cannot describe how appreciative I am for her patience, her love, for her. :)

1/11/16: I tried scallops for the first time. They were delicious..sweet, melted in my mouth. Josh took me out to dinner to Jax, an oyster/seafood restaurant. We had oysters, salad (he had soup) and then our meals. It was a very nice date night and I felt very lucky to have been treated to such a nice place.

Blah, I'm already becoming terrible at this... I need to do better!

1/7/16: We went to my boyfriend's sister's house and hung out with his two sisters and their families. It was a really great time, lots of laughs.

1/8/16: I had a doctor's appointment in the morning and I cracked a joke with the doctor and we both laughed. It made me think I was hilarious (I'm not, but I like to think this sometimes) :)

1/9/16: I took the kids to a birthday party and they had a blast. Seeing their faces and excitement playing around.

1/10/16: I bought a vacuum. The first vacuum I have ever bought myself. I was very excited to bring it home and vacuum my house! Sometimes it's the little things that I enjoy the most.

So, yesterday was a semi-hectic day for me. Why the moment for the 5th has been delayed. So...here we GO! :)

1/5/16: My Tuesday was silly, work was stressful which lead to a lot of overthinking on my part. BUT Tuesday evening was better. I absolutely love seeing how my kids interact with our cats. My daughter carries our male cat (Sasquatch) around like a baby and if Brodie is laying on the floor playing a game Sas will come up to him and lay beside him. We have another cat, a female named Zoey, but she likes to keep to herself a lot. But when she does come out she goes straight for the kids, not me. haha

1/6/16: Holy cow. My boyfriend is really great. I had trouble getting out of my complex yesterday because of snow/ice. He came over to help me. The kids were late to school, but we still got them there. We then went back to his house and I just napped. It helped me recharge and I hope he knows how much I appreciate him being there for me and the kids.

So my posts will probably always be a day late, because who knows how a day will go.

1/4/2016: Yesterday was trying for me. My daughter wouldn't listen, when we finally got out of the house for dinner my son than wouldn't listen. It was a rough day. But something positive about yesterday, both kids took baths without griping. They took them separately, which is fine, but they took them. Can't beat that!

Also, KU beat OU in 3 OT's. So that was neat.

Here we go!

January 1st through the 3rd, 2016. This post will be rather long as I just decided today (on the 4th) that I want to write out one happy moment from every day of 2016.

 1/1/2016: My boyfriend and I ate lunch together on the patio before he worked. Now, this may not seem like a very "happy moment" to remember to most, but it was our first day of 2016. We had Subway, his breakfast sandwich was too sloppy and he had to wipe off some of the mustard/mayonnaise from it. It made me laugh because he has this big beard and if he hadn't wiped it off, his beard would have been this big saucy mess! :) I enjoy all the time we get together and that includes eating food beside him. Weird, whatevs ;) 

1/2/2016: He wore my sweatpants and one of my t-shirts, which is already real tight on me, while cooking us dinner. It made me laugh and yes I did take a picture but no I will not share it. It's kept safe in my "we are funny" phone photo album :) He makes me laugh, a lot. They say laughter is the best medicine, so if I always have him I won't be dying any time soon. (knock on wood!)

 1/3/2016: I got my kids back from their dad. They all went to his folks' for the Christmas & NYE holidays. When my son got out of his dad's car he ran to me, held on/wouldn't let go, and cried. He cried & cried and I just held onto him. His tears were full of joy, not sadness. And it made me feel so so happy. This is not to discount my daughter from being excited to see me, she was! He's just more of a homebody/mommy's boy. Once we got home we then built Lego guys and ate pizza. Great first evening of 2016 together.
